Knock knock! Is somebody reading?

offline modeHey! Long time, no post, I know. How’s it going? Miss me?

So I’m conducting this experiment in self improvement at the moment. It isn’t very unique or ingenious, and it’s most definitely not something I’m going to blog about (in 6-8 months time, given the black holes between my very perky posts).

But it is something that means a lot to me because it’s been suffocating me for a very long time now.

I have quit social media.

You probably think it’s temporary and that I’m going to return in a week like I wasn’t even away. Which is a possibility, if we’re going to be honest with each other.

But I really hope not. I’m not going to go into my reasons for taking Facebook, Instagram and Twitter off my phone and signing out from the sites on my browser (no, I didn’t deactivate my accounts because that’s just too dramatic).

Anyway, I have a favour to ask of you, oh solitary reader of my little personal blog.

You see, I’ve realised that all (and I mean ALL) the content I consume on an hourly basis, is actually via social media. My news, listicles, dog videos and whatnot, pretty much everything including the writing behind the soap box, is actually thrown at me from social. And now that I’m off those platforms, I feel like I’m walking in an arid land with no compass to guide me.

So would you do me a solid and send me a link to something really interesting you read today? Or yesterday? Or tomorrow? Basically whenever you might actually stumble upon this post? Just until I gather my bearings and get back on my feet again…?

Yes? That’s awesome! This really means the world to me.

Thanks and all!
